The revised version of CP14 “Trade Marks contrary to public policy or to accepted principles of morality” and its Annex 1 was published at the end of February. Thus, all interested parties can review it and send their comments on changes and additions to the Working Group of CP14 within the next six weeks in order to further improve the document.
The Working Group of CP14 is composed of representatives from ten EU Member State Offices, three User Associations, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
The aim of CP14 is to establish a common understanding of the concepts of public policy and accepted principles of morality and to agree on common evaluation criteria. Achieving harmonization in this area will make it easier to ensure efficient examination and decision-making processes throughout the entire European Union.
