In 2025, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) received 327,735 new applications for registration of EU trade marks and EU designs. This is the highest number of applications for registration of industrial property objects in a single year since the Office began accepting applications in 1996, up 7.8% from the previous year
Applications for registration of EUTMs accounted for the largest share of applications (196,886), representing an increase of 9.1% compared to 2024. The highest number of applications from European Union Member States were received by Germany (12.7%), Italy (6.9%) and Spain (6.4%).
