Krasimira Kadieva contributed to the October edition of the ECTA Bulletin, with an article titled: “National rights in Bulgaria that constitute earlier rights in the sense of Article 8(4) EUTMR”.

In her article, Krasimira Kadieva examines Bulgarian trademark legislation, highlighting national rights that constitute earlier rights under Article 8(4) EUTMR, which can serve as grounds for opposing later filed trademarks. She analyzes the role of unregistered trademarks, trade names, and well-known marks as key instruments for businesses seeking to protect their market presence, emphasizing that their effective use requires proper use in trade and clear evidence.

The publication reflects Attorney Kadieva’s extensive professional experience in the field of trademark law – a field she defines as both her professional passion and daily practice.

In addition to Attorney Kadieva’s article, the October Bulletin of ECTA features interviews with Sven Stürmann, President of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, ECTA Awards laureates, representatives of the National Association of Patent Attorneys of Ukraine, as well as analyses of Article 8(4) EUTMR in France, Italy, and Spain.
