The Ministry of Innovation and Growth announced that it will support SMEs (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) with 16.3 million BGN for the protection of industrial property objects. More information about the procedure will be provided at the end of February 2025.
The measure will be administered by the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and will build on the existing measure “Industrial Property Vouchers”, which is implemented by the Ideas Powered SME Fund. The new procedure will finance costs for consultancy services for the preparation of documentation related to the filing of applications for trademarks, industrial designs, patents and utility models. The costs of maintaining the validity of the protective documents of industrial property objects will also be covered.
The procedure will provide SMEs with opportunities to protect their industrial property, as well as promote innovation and gain a larger market share in the increasingly competitive environment. We will provide more information about the initiative as soon as the rules are published at the end of February.
