On June 6, 2019, the Council of Ministers submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria the draft of a new Law on Marks and Geographical Indications, and on June 27, 2019, the said bill was adopted at first reading by the National Assembly. On November 28, 2019, the new Law on Marks and Geographical Indications was adopted on second reading.
In the news published on the website on 21 February 2019 and in an interview for Economy.bg Krasimira Kadieva commented on the draft of the Law on Marks and Geographical Indications.
More information on the new Law on Marks and Geographical Indications will be provided in a separate publication dedicated entirely to the changes made. Furthermore, since the current website contains a number of publications /articles/ in the field of trademarks and geographical indications, which articles are in compliance with the current law after the new Law on Marks and Geographical Indications becomes effective, an update of the relevant publications will be made.
