On September 24, 2019, the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria launched two new electronic services available on the website of the Office http://bpo.bg/. The updated functionality provides a possibility of electronically filing an application for patenting of an invention as well as for registering of a utility model. A condition for the successful submission of applications in addition to the preparation of the required set of documents is for the applicant to be registered in the Office’s electronic services system. The other electronic services that have been available to users of the electronic portal of the Patent Office for several years are related to the possibility of applying for registration of trademarks and industrial designs, as well as the ability to perform actions related to transfers of marks and designs, invalidations, renewals, recording of license agreements, changing the name and address of the holder and other similar actions.
