Algeria was the last remaining party of the Madrid Union to be only a member of the Madrid Agreement. The country joined the Madrid Protocol, which entered into force on October 31, 2015. As a result of this, the Protocol is currently in force in every Contracting Party of the Madrid Union. Therefore, only the MM2 International Application form shall be used for all Madrid System applications. Forms MM1 and MM3 are not applicable anymore. Any international application, that has been filed using forms MM1 or MM3 on or after October 31, 2015, will be considered irregular.
