In February, a client contacted us, with whom we have worked on a number of projects over the last few years, and this time our client hired us to conduct a trademark clearance of several word trademarks, one of which will be filed for registration as a European Union trademark. The trademark clearance shall be conducted for goods in classes 29,30,31 and 32 of the Nice classification. After carrying out the trademark clearance of the names provided, it appeared that some of them were not advisable to be filed for registration as they violated someone else’s earlier rights, but for two of them, there was no risk of submitting an opposition. We prepared a written legal opinion of the results of the trademark clearance and sent it and discussed it with our client.
