In April 2019 we were contacted by a client who has created a combined mark and the client intends to register it as a national mark with effect on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for goods and services in Classes 20,24,35 and 41 of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services. The client hired us to register the trademark. We provided the client with a brochure and an e-book containing useful information about trademarks and conducted a preliminary trademark search, after which we prepared a legal opinion containing an analysis of the results of the preliminary search. After preparing the opinion and sending it to the client, we proceeded with the application of the mark for registration at the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and paid the first installment of the state fee: application fee, a fee for expertise and fee for publication of the application. The application successfully passed the formal and substantive examination and was published in the Official Bulletin of the Patent Office. No objections and oppositions were filed within the three-month period and the mark was registered in October after payment of the second installment of the state fee: registration fee, a fee for publication of the registered mark and fee for issuance of a registration certificate. Finally, we provided the registration certificate to the client, with which we successfully completed this project.
