In October 2019, a client contacted us hired us to conduct a preliminary trademark search of a trademark for goods from Class 25 of the Nice Classification of the Goods and Services for the territories of all EU Member States, as our client wishes to register a European Union trademark at the EUIPO. After conducting the trademark search, it turned out that there was a risk of opposition, as we identified several earlier marks that were similar and registered for identical and similar goods in class 25. We prepared a written statement containing the results and an analysis of the results found and we provided it to the client, recommending not to take the risk, as the risk of filing of oppositions is very high.
