In January 2019, we were contacted by a client, who hired us to register a combined mark for services in Class 41 of the Nice Classification. Prior to filing the mark for registration, we conducted a preliminary search and it appeared that the mark was sufficiently distinctive and would pass the examination on absolute grounds for refusal and that no similar earlier marks were found. We provided the client with information about the registration procedure, as well as a brochure and an e-book containing useful information about the trademarks and proceeded with filing the mark for registration at the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, after which we paid the first installment of the state fee. The application for registration of the mark successfully passed the examination on absolute grounds for refusal and the application was published in the Official Bulletin of the Patent Office. No oppositions or objections were filed within the stipulated three-month period, which is why the mark was registered after we paid the second installment of the state fee. We received the trademark registration certificate that we have provided to the client and with this final step, we completed the trademark registration process.
