In December 2017 a client who is a food producer contacted us and informed us that he has made a change in the name of the company that is a proprietor of a registered trademark. Under Article 40 of the Marks and Geographical Indications Act, “The proprietor of a trademark shall notify the Patent Office of any change in its name and address within three months of the date it occurs”. The client instructed us to record the change of name. We prepared all the necessary documents for the successful entry of the change and filed submitted them at the Patent Office. We paid the state fee and within seven days the change was successfully recorded.
