Every year, on 26 April, we celebrate World Intellectual Property Day. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the impact of patents, copyrights, trademarks and designs on everyday life and to celebrate the creativity and contribution of artists and innovators to the development of our common future.
This year, the motto of the celebration chosen by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is: ‘IP and the SDGs: Building our common future with innovation and creativity’. The day is dedicated to the innovators, creators and entrepreneurs who are driving change and building a more sustainable future for humanity.
To mark the occasion, WIPO has planned a number of activities to celebrate and support this year’s World IP Day campaign, such as a youth video competition and a Virtual Changemakers Gallery.
