In February, a client contacted us, with whom we have worked on several projects over the last few years. This time, our client commissioned us to conduct a trademark clearance of four-word marks, one of which will be filed for registration as a European Union trademark. The trademark clearance should be conducted for goods in Class 11 of the Nice classification. After conducting a trademark clearance of the four-word trademarks, it turned out that most of them were not advisable to be filed for registration as they violated someone else’s earlier rights and for only one of them there was no risk of submitting an opposition. We prepared a written legal opinion of the results of the trademark clearance and sent it and discussed it with our client.
