In May 2019, a client who wishes to register a European Union trademark for goods in Class 3 of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services contacted us and for this purpose commissioned us to conduct a preliminary trademark search to find out whether earlier trademarks are being infringed. We worked with the client for a few months because the marks he provided us for the preliminary search were in conflict with foreign earlier ones, and therefore we had to do a trademark search of about ten trademarks until one was found that did not violate earlier rights. For each of the searches we conducted, we provided the results found with information and analysis of earlier rights.
