In March 2019 a client who has hired us to register his trademark had changed the seat and business address of his company, who is an applicant for registration of the trademark. The client hired us to record the change at the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria. The registration procedure of the trademark at the time of the change in the seat and registered address of the applicant is still ongoing. According to Art. 40 of the Marks and Geographical Indications Act, the applicant is obliged to notify the Patent Office of any change in its name and address within three months after the change occurs. We have drafted the necessary documents in order to comply with the requirements of Art. 40, we filed them at the Patent Office and paid the state fee. After a few days, the change was successfully recorded and then we provided the client with the document certifying the change of address.
