In March 2014, a client instructed us to register a combined trademark consisting of a word and figurative element for services chosen by the client in classes 35 and 42 of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services for the purposes of trademark registration. We explained the registration process to the client and conducted a thorough search in the databases to see if there are similar earlier trademarks. The results showed that no similar earlier trademarks were found and we advised the client to continue with the filing of the application for registration of the trademark with which to start the registration procedure. We filed the application for registration of the trademark, paid the state fees and informed our client about the progress of the registration procedure in a timely manner. Within three months of the publication of the application in the Official Bulletin of the Patent Office, no objections and oppositions were filed and the trademark was successfully registered about eleven months after filing of the application. Finally, we provided the client with a certificate for registration.
